Common Sense Media
Common Sense Media
Media is a large part of our lives. Where do we turn for direction when we need information about a particular book, app, or movie? Where can we go to get lesson plans to teach children about the safe and appropriate use of technology and media? Common Sense Media serves as advocates for children. Their mission statement reads thus:
"Common Sense Media is dedicated to improving the lives of kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in a world of media and technology."
It's a great resource for educators and parents alike.

EasyBib
I've just discovered a new tool that will make your life so much easier when writing a bibliography! It's an app that you can download onto your iPhone, iPod, or iPad 2. (You must have iOS 4.0) The app is free. It's called EasyBib. What it does is scan book barcodes to create citations. The citations can be shared with others or emailed. You have the option to choose MLA, APA, or Chicago formats. How cool is that?

The students even had a surprise four-legged guest! This surprise guest likes to listen to stories while gnawing on his favorite milk bones. Spike enjoyed all attention from his two-legged friends and hopes to come back to school soon.
